BIOGRAPHY

Idan Zion is an award-winning composer, producer, arranger, conductor, guitarist, and educator.

He works extensively as a composer and producer for concert music, contemporary dance, film, theater, and songs. He has composed for solo instruments, chamber ensembles, and full symphony orchestras, blending both acoustic and electronic elements, classical and jazz.

 

His compositions and arrangements have been played by renowned orchestras and ensembles, including the Israeli Jazz Orchestra, the Rishon LeZion Israeli Symphony Orchestra, and the Haifa Symphony Orchestra. Idan has also performed with the Caravan Orchestra in Germany and has written extensively for a range of settings.

In addition to his performing and composing career, Idan has taught more than 1,000 students at prestigious institutions such as Rimon School of Music, and Thelma Yellin School of Arts, and authored a book on music theory, pioneering a new approach to music education.

Idan has released two albums:

"Maybe You Should" (2023), a funk-jazz instrumental album,

and "Moments in Time" (2024), a solo piano project.

Idan holds a diploma in Jazz Studies, Music Production and Arranging from the Rimon School of Music, and a Bachelors degree from Ono Academic College, specializing in composition, arranging, and symphonic conducting under the guidance of Maestro Yaron Gottfried.
